Good Shepherd Rehabilitation to host 2nd annual Leading Disruption: A Health-Care Innovation Summit

Good Shepherd Rehabilitation has opened registration for the second annual Leading Disruption: A Health-Care Innovation Summit, a one-day conference designed to inspire an innovation mindset with thought-provoking presentations, interactive workshops and networking.

Scheduled for April 6, 2024, at ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks in Bethlehem, this summit unites a diverse community of health-care professionals, thought leaders, academics, students and industry experts who are motivated to challenge the status quo.

Speakers from around the U.S. will share expertise and insight into topics such as:

“How To Be an An Innovator” with David Putrino, PT, PhD, of Mount Sinai Health System
“Rapid Prototyping: A Practical Application of Innovating for Upper Extremity Rehabilitation” with Rhonda J. Manns, MBA, BSN, RN, CCM, a nurse innovator and national speaker
“Secrets of the Successful Inventor: Ideas to Action” with Gene Murtha, an inventor and former Mattel executive
“AI Will Not Replace You, I Promise” with Ravi Komatireddy, MD, MCTI, a digital health entrepreneur
“Precision Rehabilitation: Wearable Technologies for Advancing the Diagnosis and Treatment of Gait Propulsion Deficits After Stroke” with Lou Awad, PT, DPT, PhD, of Boston University’s Neuromotor Recovery Laboratory
“Future Makers in Health: Lehigh University’s Approach to Innovation” with Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Nathan Urban, PhD; Vice Provost of Entrepreneurship Lisa Getzler; Dean of the College of Health Elizabeth Dolan, PhD; and Innovator in Residence and Adjunct Faculty Chris Kauzmann, MS, of Lehigh University
Plus, the conference will feature a poster jam and poster session, as well as a panel discussion to end the day.

Leading Disruption is hosted exclusively by Good Shepherd Rehabilitation, a leader in providing innovative solutions for patients, practitioners and people living with disabilities.

“Our goal is to lead disruption within health care by creating a community of passionate changemakers determined to re-think health and health outcomes, especially for those with living with a disability or chronic condition,” said Emily Lyter, PT, DPT, administrative director of Good Shepherd Learns, Creates and Research. “This one-day conference is an experience and opportunity for attendees to roll up their sleeves and get involved — to learn from and be inspired by the health-care pioneers of today, expand their network across professional and industry lines, and acquire new skills they can use to begin tackling some of health care’s most demanding challenges the next day.”

In 2023, the Innovation Summit drew nearly 200 attendees.

Cost to attend is $150 (receive a limited-time $25 discount with the EARLYBIRD promo code at checkout), students (with valid student ID) are $50, and Good Shepherd Rehabilitation and Good Shepherd Penn Partners (GSPP) employees are free.

Visit the conference webpage for more information, including how to register, agenda, sponsorship opportunities and speaker bios.
